Alecia Huettl, MD

Dr. Alecia N. Huettl is a new member of Milestone Pediatrics, founded in 2022.

Previously, she worked for Children's Hospital of Wisconsin primary care for more than 11 years, after earning her Doctor of Medicine from The Medical College of Wisconsin and completing her residency at Children's Hospital.

Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Huettl has a broad range of pediatric experience, but maintains a special interest in working with new mothers to find the best ways to feed their babies, in particular through breast feeding techniques.

As someone with a long history in ballet and other dance, Dr. Huettl also brings a special perspective to young patients involved in sports and other physical activities and enjoys discussing injury prevention.

"I actually went to undergraduate as a dance major," she says of her time at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

During sophomore year, needing to fulfill a biology requirement, she took a human physiology course, learning how the body works, and "it was fascinating to me."

Soon she was on a path toward a medical career, though she still finds time to take dance classes even now as a busy doctor and married mother of four.

With her own kids ages 4 to 15, she comes to Milestone not just as a seasoned practitioner but as someone on the front lines of parenting.

She describes her work philosophy as "partnering with parents and kids, working together to keep them healthy and safe."

Dr. Huettl firmly believes "there are no dumb questions" when it comes to health care, and she encourages families to ask about whatever concerns them.

Born in Pennsylvania but raised mostly in the Appleton area, Dr. Huettl describes her household as one with divided football loyalties between the Steelers and Packers. However, her interests as a spectator are mostly centered on her kids' soccer and basketball games, cross country meets and dance competitions.

Now living in Brookfield, she enjoys running and hiking with her active family, and has a goal of visiting all 50 states before she turns 50, along with as many national parks as possible.
